Kutab Note Taker privacy policy
Kutab Note Taker is a Chrome extension for teachers at academies that run on Kutab, published by Youssef Afify. This policy says what the extension handles, where it goes, and what it never does. Last updated 29 September 2026.
Only what a lesson note needs, and only when you ask.
Your academy's address. During setup you type the address of your academy's Kutab site. The extension sends that address to the Kutab directory to find your academy's servers. Nothing else is sent with it.
Your sign-in. You sign in on your academy's own Kutab site, the way you always do, and the extension never sees your password. Your academy gives the extension a session (an access token and a renewal token), which it keeps in Chrome's extension storage on your computer.
What you capture. A screenshot is taken only when you click “Take a note” or press the shortcut. The screenshot, the boxes, tags and comments you add, and the voice notes you record are sent to your academy's Kutab server and attached to the lesson, where the lesson's students and their parents can see them in the lesson recap.
Your lessons. The extension reads your lessons and the names of the students in them from your academy, to show them in the panel.
What stays on your computer, and for how long.
The academies you connected (their names, addresses and branding), your session with each, your language choice, and notes waiting to upload. A note is deleted from your computer one day after it has uploaded.
Signing out of an academy, or removing it, deletes its session from your computer. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
No background capture, no tracking, no third parties.
Kutab Note Taker's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your academy decides how long notes are kept and who sees them.
Your notes, screenshots and voice notes live on your academy's Kutab site. Your academy decides how long it keeps them and who can see them, under its own privacy policy.
While a lesson is open for notes, you can edit or delete your notes, screenshots and voice notes from the panel. After that, ask your academy.
